Digital Delivery Lead
Who you’ll be joining
We’re problem solvers at heart. Sometimes the answer is technology, sometimes it is strategy, and sometimes it is a strong cup of tea and a bit of thoughtful conversation. Whatever it takes, we work it out with our clients.
We’re an IT consultancy that helps organisations get the best out of their technology. That means keeping them secure and keeping the bad guys out, making sure everything works and is easy to use, and doing smart things with data and software to give their business an edge. It is important work, and we care about doing it well and for the right reasons.
Life at Waterstons is friendly, flexible and built on trust. We hire people who are curious, thoughtful and good at getting to the heart of a problem. You get support, trust and room to grow in a place that still feels human. The unlimited holidays and private healthcare are a nice touch, although most people stay because it feels like the right place to do good work with good people.
What You’ll Be Doing
We are looking for a friendly, organised and motivated Delivery Lead to join our Digital Services team.
In this role, you will manage the delivery of projects across the Digital Services division, including software, artificial intelligence (AI) and data projects. You may also support the delivery of other technical projects where required.
Our work is varied, challenging and meaningful. We are rarely building ordinary or predictable solutions — our projects include platforms that help tackle cybercrime nationwide, support the fight against fuel piracy and help keep supermarket shelves stocked, to mention a few. You will work on projects with genuinely unique challenges and the opportunity to deliver technology that makes a real difference.
Your Day-to-Day
Engage with clients to define project goals and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions
Plan, resource, and lead project teams to deliver bespoke software and data platforms
Monitor risks, scope, budget, and stakeholder communications
Mentor team members and support their development
Identify new opportunities and support long-term client relationships
Contribute to the continuous improvement of project delivery practices across the team
What we're looking for
If some (or most) of the following sound like you, we'd love to hear from you:
A background in project management, ideally within software or data-related projects
Experience delivering software, data or other technical projects using waterfall, agile or hybrid approaches
The ability to adapt your delivery approach to suit the needs of each project
A strong understanding of SDLC and delivery best practices
Experience using Azure DevOps
Strong organisational and time-management skills
The ability to manage competing priorities effectively
Clear communication and collaboration skills
A proactive and practical approach to solving problems
The ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at different levels
A willingness to travel to client sites as and when required
Nice to have
Familiarity with ISO 9001 and 27001 standards
Previous experience as ScrumMaster, Agile Delivery Manager or Project Manager in technology
A formal project management qualification, such as PRINCE2 or an equivalent
Experience managing projects that have included artificial intelligence as part of the delivery
Experience supporting resourcing and delivery planning across a wider team or sector
How We Take Care of You
As well as offering a competitive salary, we have an attractive benefits package including:
A healthy work life balance with flexible and agile working being the norm
Flexible holiday allowance, with a minimum of 30 days a year
EV car scheme (salary sacrifice)
Room to grow with supported development opportunities and sponsored training
Enhanced family policies
If you ever need it, company sick pay and life assurance
Supported wellbeing with regular initiatives, an employee assistance programme and private medical insurance
Flexible benefits such as a dental scheme, eye care support, season ticket loan and cycle to work
We require a security check to be carried out on all colleagues due to the nature of some of our clients’ industries.
Waterstons is committed to creating and an inclusive, understanding, and flexible place to work. We value diversity, equality and inclusion and encourage everyone to 'bring their whole selves' to work. We believe that a company that works to truly embrace and value diversity, create an environment where everyone from any background can do their best work, and feel valued and appreciated is a better company to work for.
