Technology Consultant
Who you’ll be joining
We’re problem solvers at heart. Sometimes the answer is technology, sometimes it is strategy, and sometimes it is a strong cup of tea and a bit of thoughtful conversation. Whatever it takes, we work it out with our clients.
We’re an IT consultancy that helps organisations get the best out of their technology. That means keeping them secure and keeping the bad guys out, making sure everything works and is easy to use, and doing smart things with data and software to give their business an edge. It is important work, and we care about doing it well and for the right reasons.
Life at Waterstons is friendly, flexible and built on trust. We hire people who are curious, thoughtful and good at getting to the heart of a problem. You get support, trust and room to grow in a place that still feels human. The unlimited holidays and private healthcare are a nice touch, although most people stay because it feels like the right place to do good work with good people.
What You’ll Be Doing
We’re looking for a hands-on Technology Consultant who wants to make a visible impact. This role mixes service delivery, technical escalations, onsite support, and involvement in Microsoft 365 and infrastructure projects. You will be close to clients, helping solve problems that matter while contributing technically across delivery.
You won’t be leading major projects immediately, but you will contribute technically and gain exposure quickly. This is a great opportunity for someone who brings initiative, energy, and pride in their work, with a clear pathway to Senior Technology Consultant as your capability and impact grow.
This is a hybrid role with varied work locations depending on client and delivery needs. You can expect a weekly mix of client sites across Sydney, the Sydney office, and some home working where suitable, typically around three days onsite and up to two days working from home, depending on client requirements and team collaboration.
Your Day-to-Day
Acting as an L3 escalation point for complex technical issues
Working across the service desk, delivery, and on-site client support
Attending client sites when required
Supporting technical project delivery across Microsoft 365, infrastructure, security uplift and migrations
Configuring, troubleshooting, validating and remediating technical solutions
Owning technical issues end-to-end and unblocking delivery when challenges arise
Mentoring junior engineers and service desk team members
Building strong, trusted relationships with clients
Identifying opportunities for improvement in client environments
Contributing to documentation and knowledge sharing
Helping raise technical and service standards

Strong experience in Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace environments
Confident operating in MSP or consulting environments
Comfortable working directly with clients
Adaptable, able to shift between escalations, support, and project work
Happy working onsite and as part of the service desk when needed
A proactive problem solver who takes ownership

Clear communicator who can explain technical concepts simply
Reliable, driven, and eager to grow
Someone who brings positive energy and professionalism
